Do Stainless Steel Pet Cages Never Rust?

Generally speaking, our pet cages are made of 304 stainless steel (Yuanyang pet cages do not need 202 and 201 materials), and stainless steel pet cages will rust under certain conditions. Stainless steel has the ability to resist atmospheric oxidation-that is, rust resistance, and it also has the ability to resist corrosion in media containing acids, alkalis, and salts-that is, corrosion resistance. However, the size of its anti-corrosion ability varies with the chemical composition of its steel itself, the state of mutual addition, the conditions of use and the type of environmental media.

For example, the following conditions may cause 304 stainless steel pet cages to rust:

1. On the surface of the stainless steel pet cage, there are deposits of dust or heterogeneous metal particles containing other metal elements. In the humid air, the condensed water between the attachment and the stainless steel connects the two into a micro-battery, which causes electricity. The chemical reaction destroys the protective film, which is called electrochemical corrosion. To avoid this situation, as long as the stainless steel surface is kept clean and clean, you can ensure that the stainless steel pet cage will not rust.

2. If the surface of the stainless steel pet cage adheres to organic juices (such as vegetables, noodle soup, sputum, etc.), in the presence of water and oxygen, organic acids will be formed, and organic acids will corrode the metal surface for a long time.

3. The surface of the stainless steel pet cage contains acids, alkalis and salts (such as alkali water and lime water splashing on the decoration walls), causing local corrosion.

4. In polluted air (such as the atmosphere containing a large amount of sulfide, carbon oxide, nitrogen oxide), when encountering condensed water, it will form sulfuric acid, nitric acid, and acetic acid liquid points, causing chemical corrosion. The above conditions can cause damage to the protective film on the surface of the stainless steel pet cage and cause rust.

Therefore, to ensure that the stainless steel pet cage is permanently bright and not rusted, we recommend:

1. The stainless steel pet cage must be cleaned and scrubbed frequently to keep the surface of the stainless steel pet cage clean and dry, which can ensure that the stainless steel pet cage is bright every day.

2. 316 stainless steel should be used in seaside areas, and 316 material can resist seawater corrosion.

3. Some stainless steel pet cages on the market do not use 304 or higher materials. The so-called 202 and 201 stainless steels are easy to rust. Please try not to choose stainless steel pet cages. So the question is, why is it easy to rust and it is called stainless steel? 201 and 202 stainless steel is rust-resistant in clean air, such as home decoration ceiling edging, clean can resist rust, but not for dogs. Because dog size is corrosive.
